The Vienna Tango Quintet (Ronen Nissan – music director and guitar) is an ensemble made of classically trained musicians (Daniel Arias-Holguin – Violin, Pablo Rojas – Piano, Milos Avramovic – Bandoneon, Angelica Martinez – Bass) who share a passion for Latin American music in general and Argentinian Tango in particular.
The quintet collaborates with well known artists such as Timna Brauer, Julian Henao, or Paula Barembuem. On stage it presents a wide repertoire ranging from traditional tangos and Argentinian folklore, to music from various South and Latin American countries, even cabaret and chansons.
A special feature of its repertoire is a program of tangos from outside of Argentina, performed in Yiddish (“Jewish tango”), German, French and even in Turkish.
The ensemble has already performed in various cities in Austria, Germany, Sweden, Spain, Poland, and Bulgaria, and has recently recorded a new CD with Timna Brauer, a singer celebrated in Austria for Jewish and world music.
